Mortal Kombat vs. D.C. Universe

This game takes the blood and gore of Mortal Kombat and combines it with the D.C super heroes. I didn't think to highly of this game when I first heard about it, but it's actually shaping up pretty well. Espically after they just showed a video of the Joker's fatality. Heh I can't believe it's rated T after seeing this. Espically coming from someone in the D.C. Universe.

Guitar Hero World Tour

There was plenty of info about this game at Leipzig, but I thought there was one new thing that stuck out. There is finally a little Wii love. There will be a mode in the game where you will be able to play the game with your Mii. Now I'm not entirely sure how they are going to pull this off because you can't take something as cartoony as the Mii and put it in the middle of a realistic stage. Most likely they will make a cartoon mode so the Mii will fit, but it will be interesting to see what they end up doing.

Fifa 09

Supposdly this will finally bring something new to the soccer games. I own Fifa 08, and after playing that there better be something new. It was exactly the same as 07 except there was some boring juggling feature. This promises to add new features like the ADIDAS Live Season. For those who don't know this new feature will make world play much better. Like say if a player does really well in a real game then in the game he will be very "hot" when you play him, and the players get updated weekly so this means the good players might not always do good, and the bad don't always do badly. Which does sound very nice espically if you watch as much soccer as me

Blizzard

Of course it wouldn't be a real gaming convention without Blizzard. They came to show off their 3 huge games Wrath of the lich King, StarCraft 2, and Diablo 3.

Spore is probably one of the most talked about games right now. Never has any game ever done anything close to what this game is hopely going to bring. You will be able to create your own race, and start from a simple small organism to a huge civilization that is controlling the whole universe. Now by Universe I don't mean a planet or two. I mean solar systems galore.

Now there isn't a ton of information about it, but our good friend Will Wright has hinted we may see this game one day evolve into an MMO. While EuroGamer was interviewing Will he said that the point of Spore was to bring together single player and and multiplayer games together.

From the interview Will said: 

"The biggest benefit I saw from that was the possibility of having a collaboratively built world, that's huge and always surprising. So for Spore we tried to figure out, how do we get the best aspects of a massively-multiplayer game without all these huge design limitations?"

"When you design a massively-multiplayer online game you have to bite off a lot of major design limitations, like nobody can pause the game, nobody can cheat, you usually have to pay a subscription.

"I think a lot of these limitations were what sank The Sims Online: we didn't have enough user-created content; to a lot of the people that were playing The Sims, the idea of paying a subscription was a really big filter - a lot didn't even have credit cards."

What really stuck though was when he said that it is very possible that one day Spore could grow into an MMO. Which could completly change our opinion of an MMO. Right now it's just an idea, but who knows what the future has in store for this amazing game?
